In Taipei it is good growing old

growing old in taipei

I did not see any of the white obsessive compulsively cleaned compounds where the keep old people, but the entire neighbourhood seemed to be a place where old people are respectfully walked around, drawn into everyday activities and keep up theit taichi exercises. A bit slower maybe. But still.

Difr demo

DIFR, the Dutch Interdisciplinary Forum on RFID, finished development of
the RFID Privacy Coach. Funded by NLNet Foundation, the group
(consisting of TNO, MoboUniq, Royal Acadmy of Art at the Hague, Waag
Society, Rathenau Institute and Leiden University) developed this
proof-of-concept application for NFC enabled mobile phones. It shows
that, once HF EPC tags become available, consumers can use their mobile
phone to verify the privacy policies enforced by RFID tags (on the goods
they buy) against their personal privacy profile.

For more information, and a flash-demo, see
